Hello, and thanks for visiting. My name is Joshua Braun and I'm a 26 year old science journalist and
grad student living in Ithaca, New York. I was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and grew up in
Bakersfield, California.
I currently hold a masters in medical ethics from the University of Pennsylvania and an individual
studies bachelors degree in science journalism from UC Santa Barbara.
As an undergraduate, I worked for two years as the science and technology editor for the Daily Nexus,
UC Santa Barbara's campus newspaper. During this time I also produced an independent documentary
on infertility medicine in the United States, which I sold upon graduation to Chip Taylor
Communications.
Throughout my time in Santa Barbara, I had the pleasure of living and working with extraordinarily
talented people, many of whom have their own Webpages and burgeoning careers. I hope you'll take
the time to visit some of their sites.
After graduating from Santa Barbara, I spent the better part of a year in Los Angeles, California where
I worked as a grip and production assistant for Mike Rogers and later for Morningstar Entertainment, a
production company which creates programs for the Discovery Channel.
As a graduate student at Penn I interned for ABC News Nightline, where I had the pleasure of working
with a group of wonderful journalists far wiser and more experienced than I should ever hope to be.
Since then, I've worked as an editorial assistant for Seed Magazine and as a freelance producer for the
program Radio Lab on WNYC New York Public Radio. I am currently a graduate student at Cornell
University, where I am pursuing a masters, and eventually a doctorate in health and science
communication.
My interests include photography, documentary film, books of all sorts and getting lost in the woods.
Thanks again for dropping by. I hope you find something of interest on this site.
