Still from The Children Show

A few of my more successful projects.  I've made some really bad ones too.

But you won't hear about those.

Beyond This Horizon:

The History and Future of Communications Satellites

(1999) My first documentary, which I made in high school with my friend

Craig Shipman for History Day.  A word of explanation may be

necessary.  History Day is like a science fair, only its participants research

a topic in history.  Sad, isn't it?

Awards: 1st Place Documentary - California High School Division

Rigs to Reefs:

The Show Must Go On

(2002) A short I produced, directed and wrote at UC Santa Barbara about

the proposed government plan to leave decomissioned offshore oil rigs in

place as artificial reefs for fish.  In the words of one distraught student in

my class, "It totally makes light of a serious subject."  To which the

professor answered, "Um, I think that's the point."

Awards: A cult following at UCSB and a potential lawsuit if it were ever

screened.

The Children Show

(2004) A feature length documentary about infertility medicine in

America.  It exists in two versions, one full of copyrighted newscasts and

clips, which stands as my honors thesis for UCSB, and another more

polished professional cut without copyrighted clips, which is currently

distributed by Chip Taylor Communications.  For more information or to

order, click here.

Awards: None.
